During his first official visit to Armenia, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili underscored the shared commitment of South Caucasus nations to achieving lasting peace and fostering stable development across the region.
"The region needs stability, peace, and economic development," Kavelashvili affirmed during his visit, which included high-level meetings with Armenia’s President and Prime Minister, as well as cultural stops in Echmiadzin and the Parajanov House Museum.
Kavelashvili emphasized the importance of his dialogue with Armenian leadership, noting, “We discussed a range of important issues, including the shared vision for long-term peace and stable development in the South Caucasus. There is a clear readiness among the countries in our region to work together toward these common goals.”
Referencing his recent visit to Azerbaijan, Kavelashvili noted a similarly strong commitment to peace, highlighting the ongoing trilateral dialogue between Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. With negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan concluded, he expressed optimism about an impending agreement that could solidify regional peace.
“There is widespread consensus on the need for peace, stability, and economic development,” he said. “This foundation will also allow us to advance cooperation in areas such as energy, tourism, and culture.”
He concluded with a firm message: “There is no alternative to peace. It is the key to a more prosperous future, stronger societies, and greater security for every citizen. Our regional cooperation will only grow stronger as we continue on this path.”
