Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized Georgia’s strong and ongoing partnership with the OSCE ahead of the official visit by OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen.
“Georgia values and commits to its collaboration with the OSCE; we have cherished this partnership throughout the years,” Kobakhidze told reporters.
He noted that a meeting with Minister Valtonen is scheduled for the following day, during which key issues will be discussed in the context of OSCE-Georgia relations.
“Our commitment to working with the OSCE remains steadfast. We have consistently prioritized this cooperation,” he said, highlighting the importance of the OSCE/ODIHR’s positive assessment of Georgia’s elections. Kobakhidze added that this assessment faced criticism from both the domestic opposition and their international allies, yet remains a point of validation for the government.
“We will once again underline our dedication to strengthening and deepening cooperation with the OSCE. We remain fully open to dialogue,” he stated.
Elina Valtonen is visiting Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia from October 13 to 15 as part of her regional tour in her capacity as the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
