Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, the United Arab Emirates' Minister of State for Foreign, Economic, and Trade Affairs, during the latter's visit to Georgia for the inauguration of the Tbilisi Dry Port, the Government Administration reported.
The two officials discussed the expanding cooperation between Georgia and the UAE across multiple sectors, emphasizing the growing momentum in bilateral trade and economic relations.
A key focus of the meeting was the strategic importance of the newly inaugurated dry port, positioned as a critical hub for enhancing regional trade flows across the Caucasus and Central Asia. The port is expected to facilitate increased cargo movement from China and the Far East via the Middle Corridor, strengthening Georgia's role in global logistics.
Also highlighted was the landmark $6 billion investment agreement with UAE-based developers Emaar Properties and Eagle Hills—described as a significant milestone in Georgia–UAE investment relations.
Minister Al Sayegh expressed appreciation for the Georgian Government’s support for foreign investors and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to advancing a partnership built on shared goals of economic growth, peace, and regional stability.
