
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with senior representatives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), including Alejandro Hajdenberg, Head of the IMF Mission; Jeroen Clicq, the Fund’s Executive Director; and Andrew Jewell, IMF Resident Representative for Georgia.
The meeting focused on Georgia’s economic growth outlook, macroeconomic stability, and the IMF’s continued support for the country’s structural reform agenda. Prime Minister Kobakhidze underscored the government's active efforts to reform the management of state-owned enterprises—a priority area identified by the IMF—emphasizing ongoing measures aimed at improving their operational efficiency.
Discussions also addressed Georgia’s progress in diversifying its trade markets, enhancing regional economic ties, developing capital markets, and bolstering energy security.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze reaffirmed Georgia’s strong commitment to its partnership with the IMF and welcomed the Fund’s positive economic projections, which closely align with the government’s own outlook.
The IMF officials, visiting as part of the Article IV consultation process, reiterated their readiness to maintain close collaboration with the Georgian government to support sustainable and inclusive economic development.
