During his official visit to Uzbekistan, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with his Uzbek counterpart, Abdulla Aripov, to discuss the positive dynamics of cooperation between the two countries. They highlighted the high-level political dialogue, institutional partnerships, and the role of Georgia-Uzbekistan inter-governmental economic cooperation in enhancing bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze expressed his gratitude to Aripov for his friendly approach toward Georgia and its people. He also extended an invitation to Aripov to visit Georgia.
"It is truly impressive to see how the relations between our countries are developing, and how rapidly your country is advancing. The reforms and transformations under your leadership are remarkable. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to Georgia. We place great importance on our cooperation, and the inter-governmental economic partnership between Georgia and Uzbekistan is of particular significance. We aim to boost trade relations and further activate the investment side of our partnership. Uzbekistan’s investment environment is highly attractive for Georgian investors, and Georgia also offers an interesting investment climate. We place special emphasis on the development of the Middle Corridor. With its strategic location linking Europe and Asia, the West and the East, Georgia is committed to utilizing this advantage. Cooperation between Georgia and Uzbekistan has the potential to be highly productive and profitable," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
In response, Abdulla Aripov noted that bilateral relations are rooted in mutual respect and trust.
"Cooperation in various economic sectors is growing steadily. Bilateral trade is increasing, joint projects are being implemented, and cultural, humanitarian, and inter-regional ties are strengthening. Uzbekistan is always ready for close and productive cooperation with Georgia in both bilateral and multilateral formats," he remarked.
"I am confident that your first official visit to Uzbekistan as Prime Minister will further deepen the mutually beneficial relations between our countries and provide a new impetus for our cooperation," Aripov concluded.
