Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze praised Tulsi Gabbard for exposing what he calls “Deep State” methods used to discredit political opponents, referencing recent claims made by Gabbard and former U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a social media post, Kobakhidze said Gabbard, citing evidence, confirmed that accusations of Russian election interference involving Trump were fabricated during Barack Obama’s presidency and orchestrated by U.S. state institutions.
He argued that labeling political figures as “pro-Russian” is a tactic widely used by the so-called Deep State through media under its control, citing examples such as France’s Marine Le Pen and Hungary’s Viktor Orbán.
Kobakhidze claimed a similar disinformation campaign has been directed at Georgia’s ruling party and its founder, Bidzina Ivanishvili, for defending national sovereignty and resisting foreign influence. Despite repeated allegations, he added, no proof has been provided to support claims of pro-Russian ties.
