
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze formally introduced Mariam Kvrivishvili as the new Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development during a meeting with the ministry’s staff.
In his address, Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to the outgoing minister, Levan Davitashvili, acknowledging his contributions to the country’s economic growth. Davitashvili will now serve as the Prime Minister’s Chief Economic Advisor and Secretary of the Economic Council.
The Prime Minister praised Kvrivishvili’s accomplishments in the tourism and aviation sectors and voiced confidence in her ability to succeed in her new role.
“Mariam Kvrivishvili has achieved notable success in tourism and aviation. I am confident she will perform just as effectively as Minister of Economy,” Kobakhidze stated.
He also thanked the ministry’s employees for their dedication, underscoring their continued importance in driving Georgia’s economic development.
Levan Davitashvili congratulated his successor and expressed optimism about the future.
“This marks a new and important chapter for the ministry—renewal brings fresh initiatives, which are vital for our country’s development,” he said.
In her remarks, Kvrivishvili thanked the Prime Minister for his trust and laid out her vision for the ministry.
“With unity and teamwork, we will complete current initiatives and launch new ones aligned with government policy and the Prime Minister’s vision,” she affirmed.
“I am confident we will achieve even greater success for our country.”
