Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze sharply criticized the current U.S. administration on Friday, accusing it of failing to reverse what he described as the "mistakes" of its predecessor regarding Georgia. He said unjust sanctions remain in place, and Georgia’s calls to reset relations have gone unanswered.
“We continue to hope Donald Trump will fulfill one of his main campaign promises and dismantle the deep state,” Kobakhidze stated.
He claimed that while the Biden administration’s stance toward Georgia had shifted from open hostility, it had instead given way to “even harsher treatment” from Brussels.
Kobakhidze further warned that the so-called deep state might not be defeated, but rather “rebranded” to sideline the U.S. and deepen European involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war, potentially leading to the destruction of both Europe and Russia.
“We sincerely wish President Trump success in his fight,” he said. “If the deep state prevails—what Trump himself calls the global war party—it won’t just destroy America, but Europe as well.”
