Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has voiced strong support for the Georgian President's recent open letter, calling for a fresh start in U.S.-Georgia relations.
"We fully share the spirit of the Georgian President’s open letter. Our message is clear: we want to restart the strategic partnership between Georgia and the U.S. from a clean slate, with a clear and effective roadmap," Kobakhidze told reporters.
The Prime Minister expressed concern about what he described as a lack of momentum in bilateral relations, urging a shift toward active engagement.
“As a society, the passivity we’re witnessing is surprising. We have a strong desire to see this change — to move toward a more active dialogue on resuming our strategic partnership,” he said.
Kobakhidze emphasized that the only potential obstacle lies in what he referred to as the "Deep State."
“If the Deep State does not prevail, we believe nothing will stand in the way of resetting Georgia-U.S. relations,” he added.
The statement comes after President Mikheil Kavelashvili issued an open letter addressed to former U.S. President Donald Trump, signaling a desire to strengthen ties with American leadership.
