
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met with the Resident Representatives to the United Nations from the Republic of Burundi, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Lesotho, and Nepal.
The meeting highlighted the enduring significance of the United Nations Charter and the importance of maintaining a rules-based international order. Special attention was given to commemorating the 80th anniversary of the UN’s founding, with discussions also addressing the need for UN reform in response to today’s global challenges.
The conversation also explored the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening both bilateral and multilateral relations.
The situation in Georgia’s occupied regions was brought to the forefront. The UN representatives praised Georgia’s policies on internally displaced persons (IDPs) and acknowledged the country’s valuable experience in implementing successful reforms.
