The matters of strengthening relations and cultural cooperation between Georgia and Jordan were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian Culture Minister Tea Tsulukiani and her Jordanian counterpart Haifa Najjar.
The Georgian Ministry said the meeting, held as a part of Tsulukiani’s working visit to the country, highlighted protection of cultural heritage and national identity, with the Jordanian side extending their invitation for a visit to archaeological monuments in the country where future cooperative projects could be initiated.
The Ministry noted Georgia would participate in the 38th edition of Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, scheduled to be held between July 24-August 3 and dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the reign of the Jordanian King Abdullah II.
The Georgian culture and art will be represented at the Festival by a choreographic ensemble from the Black Sea region of Adjara.
