
Mikheil Sarjveladze, Georgia’s Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health, and Social Affairs, met with representatives of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Geneva to discuss continued collaboration and progress in public health.
According to the Ministry of Health, the meeting focused on ongoing reforms in the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and hepatitis C. The discussion emphasized recent achievements and the importance of reinforcing cooperation to further strengthen Georgia’s healthcare system.
Minister Sarjveladze thanked the Global Fund for its longstanding support, underscoring the role of sustained international partnerships in improving public health outcomes in Georgia.
The meeting took place alongside the 78th World Health Assembly, held from May 19 to 27 in Geneva under the theme “One World for Health.” Sarjveladze is participating in the Assembly, which brings together global health leaders to address pressing health challenges and promote coordinated international action.
Also attending the Assembly is Revaz Lominadze, Georgia’s newly appointed Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva, who is joining the Minister in bilateral meetings with international health stakeholders.
