
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has praised the recent decision by the Greek Parliament to approve an agreement on the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of National Driving Licenses between Georgia and Greece. The agreement, which will benefit Georgian citizens living in Greece, was welcomed by Botchorishvili as a positive step forward in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that the agreement is a significant milestone in fostering a constructive and mutually beneficial agenda.
“The Greek Parliament’s decision regarding the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of National Driving Licenses is a noteworthy development, particularly for Georgian citizens residing or working in Greece. This agreement will allow them to exchange their driving licenses without having to take exams, making it easier for them to pursue employment opportunities in Greece,” Botchorishvili stated.
The agreement, titled “On the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of National Driving Licenses between Georgia and the Hellenic Republic,” was approved by a majority vote on April 8, 2025, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
Botchorishvili reiterated that this decision reflects a shared commitment to deepening ties and fostering positive outcomes on various bilateral issues.
