Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili expressed confidence in Georgia’s readiness for future membership in the European Union, highlighting the country’s significant progress in recent years.
“When the European Union opens its doors to new states, Georgia will be the best prepared for membership among the candidate countries, taking into account its progress over the last years. We have every reason to be optimistic,” the Foreign Minister stated.
Botchorishvili emphasized that even today, Georgia stands out as the most prepared candidate for EU accession, underscoring the government’s commitment to meeting European standards.
“I hope that by 2030, the European Union will be ready to advance its enlargement policy and welcome new members. The government of Georgia stands by its word—it says that by 2030, Georgia will be the best prepared candidate when the EU opens its doors to new states,” she said.
“Even now, Georgia is ahead in terms of preparedness, reflecting the progress made over the past years. We have solid grounds for optimism. Over the next five years, Georgia will continue to move forward—becoming even more aligned with EU standards, more competitive, and ready to stand strong under the EU umbrella, alongside developed nations,” Botchorishvili added.
