Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili stated that Georgia “does not deserve the criticism and attitude” it has recently faced, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the country’s long-term development and stability.
Speaking to reporters, Botchorishvili stressed that Georgia remains firmly dedicated to the path necessary for its progress, security, and European integration.
“Facts speak very well about everything — time illustrates, and it is time that will lead us to the truth. Our country does not deserve the criticism we often hear and the attitude that we have observed lately. Despite all this, we are committed to the path required for the country’s development, stable future, and security. I am convinced this is needed for European security — a developed, peaceful, and stable Georgia is in Europe’s interest, and Georgia continues to contribute to the continent’s future,” the Foreign Minister said.
Her comments followed remarks by EU Ambassador to Georgia Paweł Herczyński, who noted that, according to the European Commission’s latest enlargement report, both Ukraine and Moldova remain significantly ahead of Georgia on their respective EU accession paths.
