At a UN General Assembly panel, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili urged that the summit become a turning point for global development, calling for stronger commitment to the Pact for the Future, along with the mobilization of resources, political will, and cooperation for just and sustainable growth.
She emphasized Georgia’s dedication to this vision, noting its economic resilience despite regional challenges. With an average growth rate of 9.7% over four years, Georgia has prioritized renewable energy, digital transformation, and key infrastructure projects like the Black Sea cable and Anaklia Port to boost regional connectivity and energy security.
Botchorishvili also highlighted Georgia’s role as an open trade hub with access to 2.3 billion consumers through 16 free trade agreements. Despite security threats and the ongoing Russian occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, she reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to peace and international law.
