The Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili stated that the Government prioritizes national interests, including security and stability, which are essential for European integration.
In an interview with the Georgian Public Broadcaster, she claimed Georgia exemplifies how Brussels creates misconceptions and builds policies on inaccuracies. She alleged that a change of Government had been planned in Georgia, with the EU being used as a tool in the process.
Addressing accusations of “anti-Western rhetoric,” Botchorishvili argued that advocating for national interests is mischaracterized as anti-Western. She emphasized that EU membership remains a national priority but criticized Brussels for refusing dialogue with the democratically elected Government.
She warned that ignoring Georgia’s Government could harm the EU integration process and stressed the need for economic development, reforms, and stability to improve citizens’ living standards.
