Georgia’s Foreign Minister, Maka Botchorishvili, engaged in a bilateral meeting with Armenia’s Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan, during the OSCE Ministerial Council held in Malta.
As reported by the ministry’s press office, Minister Mirzoyan extended congratulations to his Georgian counterpart on her recent appointment, expressing his well-wishes for her success in the new role.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to review and reinforce the longstanding friendly relations between Georgia and Armenia, as well as to explore potential avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation. Significant focus was placed on expanding economic and trade relations, as well as leveraging the region’s transit potential. The ministers also highlighted ongoing collaborations in the fields of culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges, all of which were positively appraised.
A key point of discussion was the Declaration on Strategic Partnership, signed between the two countries in 2024, which was acknowledged as a critical milestone in the deepening of bilateral ties. The ministers underscored the positive trajectory of high-level exchanges, which further reinforce the strength of diplomatic relations.
Additionally, the discussion emphasized the shared commitment to promoting peace and stability within the region. Minister Botchorishvili conveyed her appreciation to Minister Mirzoyan for Armenia’s unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Finally, the meeting touched on areas of cooperation within international organizations, further solidifying the collaborative framework between the two nations, as noted in the official press statement.
