
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, Chou Tsien. The Minister personally congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to the position and wished him success in his work.
Within the framework of the meeting, Mikheil Chkhenkeli spoke about the ongoing reforms at all levels of education in Georgia and briefed the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China on the large-scale educational projects implemented in recent years.
The Minister thanked Chou Tsien for the cooperation and the joint projects that the Ministry has been successfully implementing for many years in partnership with the People's Republic of China in the direction of general and higher education and science. Mikheil Chkhenkeli said that the universities and scientific and research institutions of Georgia and China have a long-term close partnership, which is a prominent example of the existing friendship between the two countries.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects of deepening the current partnership between Georgia and the People's Republic of China and discussed the issues of strengthening scientific ties.
On his part, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China thanked Mikheil Chkhenkeli for his support and expressed his readiness to actively cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
