
“Until now, the competition has been artificially restricted, leading to the fact that medicines of equal quality, denomination and impact were three to four times cheaper here, in our neighboring country, Turkey [with which we generally have liberal, free trade] and were much more expensive in Georgia, which is nonsense. Therefore, a logical decision was made to open the market," Turnava said.
According to her, medicine is an essential product and the starting point here should be to protect the interests of consumers.
"Now, this decision has already led to positive expectations and you will see that the competition will expand in just a short time. It will also regulate the prices of medicines imported from other countries. It cannot even be otherwise," Turnava said.
