
Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met in Tbilisi to discuss transport cooperation, ongoing projects, and future priorities.
Davitashvili emphasized the importance of annual meetings between the two countries to review transport plans. They discussed the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project, which is expected to reach its final stage this year, and the establishment of a joint venture between Georgia and Azerbaijan to manage this infrastructure for more efficient cargo handling.
The officials also addressed the Middle Corridor logistics route connecting Central Asia, China, and Europe via the South Caucasus, exploring ways to enhance its competitiveness. Additionally, they discussed the upcoming launch of passenger rail traffic between the two countries on May 1, highlighting its potential benefits for tourism.
