
Coffee has become significantly more expensive in Georgia in 2025, with prices rising by approximately 50% compared to the previous year, according to data from Geostat.
Between January and July 2025, Georgia imported 4,226 tons of coffee valued at $30.3 million. While the volume of coffee imports slightly decreased compared to the 4,399 tons imported during the same period last year, the cost surged by nearly $10 million — up from $20.9 million in 2024. This indicates a steep increase in average import prices.

Export Trends Also on the Rise
Although small in scale compared to imports, coffee exports from Georgia also increased during the same period. In the first seven months of 2025, Georgia exported 229 tons of coffee worth $1.5 million, up from 157 tons valued at $911,600 in 2024.
The primary export destination is Armenia, which alone accounted for 215 tons and $1.1 million of Georgia’s coffee exports.
