Georgia’s civil aviation sector witnessed exceptional growth in the first half of 2025, with passenger numbers, flight frequency, and cargo turnover all reaching record highs, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili announced.
Over 3.6 million passengers passed through Georgian airports between January and June—marking a 14% year-on-year increase. All three international airports reported a notable surge in tourist arrivals.
The sector also saw a significant rise in cargo operations, with approximately 16,000 tons of cargo processed in the same six-month period—a 50% increase compared to the first half of 2024.
“These achievements are a direct result of the government’s strategic policies and our continued efforts to boost Georgia’s global connectivity,” said Nadareishvili. “The growth is already having a positive impact on the tourism industry, and our airports are now offering more flights to major global capital cities—further strengthening Georgia’s economic and cultural ties worldwide.”
