Paata Kvizhinadze, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Georgian Parliament, met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, led by Alejandro Hajdenberg. The meeting also included Andrew Jewell, the IMF’s Resident Representative in Georgia.
The discussions focused on Georgia’s macroeconomic stability, ongoing fiscal and monetary policies, and the current progress of the 2025 budget implementation. Both parties also reviewed ongoing cooperation between Georgia and the IMF.
IMF representatives commended Georgia's robust economic activity and steady growth trajectory, expressing confidence that this positive trend is likely to continue. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing it to a new level.
The visit is part of the IMF’s regular Article IV Consultations, which began last week. These consultations are designed to evaluate the country’s macroeconomic performance and assess the effectiveness of current fiscal and monetary strategies under the IMF’s Articles of Agreement.
