
Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili held an expanded meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade, attended by members of both countries’ delegations.
The talks focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Serbia, including sector-specific collaboration and opportunities to further deepen relations. While noting a positive trend in bilateral trade, the leaders emphasized that significant potential remains for expanding economic ties.
Both sides welcomed the growing frequency of high-level exchanges. President Kavelashvili highlighted the importance of his first presidential-level visit to Serbia, stating that it would give new momentum to Georgian-Serbian relations and contribute to a stronger and more dynamic bilateral dialogue.
Regional cooperation was also a central topic of discussion, with particular attention given to the increasing strategic importance of the Middle Corridor amid changing geopolitical conditions. President Kavelashvili reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to supporting the corridor’s development, ensuring its security, and promoting its efficient and reliable operation.
The leaders underlined Georgia’s continued dedication to peace, stability, and economic development, noting that the country’s long-standing, peace-oriented policy in the South Caucasus aims to promote sustainable stability and enhance trust and cooperation among neighboring states.
The meeting also stressed the importance of fostering partnerships between higher education institutions, vocational and professional organizations, as well as scientific and research centers. Both sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation in youth policy, innovation, technology, and the development of artificial intelligence.
The expanded meeting was attended by Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili, Members of Parliament Irakli Mezurnishvili, Irma Zavradashvili, and Guram Macharashvili, Ambassador of Georgia to Serbia Levan Beridze, and representatives of the Administration of the President of Georgia.
