
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, took part in the annual meeting of the America-Georgia Business Council, the Georgian Embassy in Washington reported.
According to the Embassy, Ambassador Taliashvili addressed participants and stressed the importance of revitalising U.S.–Georgian relations. She highlighted Georgia’s historically significant role in the development of the Middle Corridor and noted the government’s effective initiatives that have enabled the country to fully reclaim its position in this strategic route. In this context, she also referenced the successful Silk Road Forum recently held in Tbilisi.
Taliashvili underlined the relevance of President Trump’s Peace Initiative and the TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) project in strengthening regional connectivity. She also discussed the visit of State Department representative Jonathan Askonas to Georgia, during which the country’s key role in advancing the initiative was reaffirmed.
Presenters at the meeting offered a positive assessment of Georgia’s economic performance, noting robust growth indicators, the resilience of the banking sector, favourable trends in the service industry, and an efficient customs system. They also highlighted the significant yet untapped potential of the Middle Corridor and Georgia’s crucial role within it.
The meeting opened with remarks from Mamuka Tsereteli, President of the America-Georgia Business Council. Among the attendees and speakers were Ambassador Philip Reeker of the Albright Stonebridge Group; Giorgi Pertaia, President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Eugene Rhuggenaath, Executive Director of Project Finance; Kenneth Angell; and Alejandro Hajdenberg, Chief of the IMF Mission to Georgia.
