Additionally, Georgian airlines transported 269.6 thousand tons of freight, with a freight turnover of 611.5 million ton-kilometers. Freight volume increased by 20.3%, and freight turnover grew by 43.6% compared to the previous year.
In 2024, the total number of passengers at Georgian airports increased by 23.9% year-over-year, reaching 7,440.3 thousand. This included 3,711.6 thousand arriving passengers (24.2% more) and 3,728.7 thousand departing passengers (23.5% more).
The number of passenger flights from Georgian airports also saw an 18.9% increase in 2024, totaling 30.3 thousand flights.
Freight and mail volume at Georgian airports amounted to 26.2 thousand tons in 2024, with 86.7% of it arriving freight and 13.3% being departing freight.
In terms of freight flights, 2.2 thousand flights were conducted at Georgian airports, a 2.1-fold increase compared to 2023. The number of aircraft registered in the Georgian civil aircraft register rose by 16.7% to 70, with 78.6% of them being passenger aircraft and 21.4% being cargo aircraft. Among the passenger aircraft, 76.4% had fewer than 50 seats, 10.9% had between 51 and 150 seats, and 12.7% had between 151-250 or more seats.
Finally, Georgian airports were equipped with six runways, 58 check-in points, 25 passenger gates, and 1.9 thousand parking spaces for private cars in 2024.
