Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has welcomed the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, emphasizing Georgia’s readiness to play a constructive role in promoting stability and cooperation across the South Caucasus.
“We wholeheartedly welcome the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and we affirm that Georgia is prepared to contribute to strengthening peace and cooperation in the region,” Botchorishvili stated during a joint press briefing with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu in Tbilisi.
The Foreign Minister highlighted Georgia’s proactive diplomatic engagement, noting the first-ever trilateral meeting between the foreign ministries of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, which was held in Tbilisi last week.
“I am hopeful that this format will pave the way for fruitful cooperation aimed at the well-being of our region,” she said.
Botchorishvili also underscored the importance of regional cooperation in implementing joint economic and development projects that could bolster prosperity in the South Caucasus. She reiterated Georgia’s commitment to working closely with international partners, particularly within the framework of the OSCE, to support such initiatives.
“Collaboration with our partners within the OSCE is vital. Let me extend my gratitude for your visit to Georgia and for engaging in discussions about these important issues concerning regional cooperation,” she concluded.
