
According to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), the country received 3.0 million international non-resident travellers in the third quarter of 2025, reflecting a 6.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
The largest share of visitors — 40.7% — were aged 31 to 50, highlighting this group as the most active among international arrivals.
GeoStat reported that the total number of visits by international travellers reached 2.5 million, up 6.8% year-on-year. Among these, 2.2 million were classified as international visitors, representing a 7.6% increase, and 2.0 million were tourist-type visits, up 9.0% from the previous year.
Tourists accounted for 80.8% of all international visitors, while 15.4% were excursionists and 3.8% participated in both types of travel.
By country of origin, the Russian Federation led with 567,100 visitors (26.1%), followed by Türkiye (16.5%) and Armenia (11.8%). The majority of visitors — 45.4% — were aged 31–50, and women made up 48.2% of the total.
Leisure, entertainment, and recreation were the main purposes of visits, accounting for 58.7% of all travel.
In terms of destinations, most visits were recorded in Tbilisi and the Adjara Autonomous Region, with 1,306,300 and 1,274,400 visits respectively.
The average length of stay rose slightly to 6.3 nights, up 2.1% from last year’s 6.2 nights. Notably, 73.3% of visits were made by repeat visitors, indicating growing loyalty among travellers.
Visitor expenditure reached over GEL 6.2 billion, representing an 8.6% increase year-on-year, while the average spending per visit rose 1.7%, amounting to GEL 2,467.5.
