Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili underscored the significance of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s participation in the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, currently underway in Denmark. According to the Minister, Georgia's involvement in the EPC format is vital for engaging in discussions that shape the European agenda.
“The European Political Community format addresses all key issues affecting the European region. It is crucial that Georgia’s Prime Minister participates in discussions on economic matters,” Botchorishvili stated, emphasizing the strategic value of the EPC for Georgia.
She noted that the forum provides an exceptional platform for bilateral and multilateral dialogue with leaders from across Europe, allowing Georgia to contribute to and benefit from the region’s evolving political and economic landscape.
“The EPC has become an important platform for European leaders to engage in dialogue on regional issues. It is essential for Georgia to be part of these conversations. Our Prime Minister's participation in economic discussions is particularly valuable. This forum serves as one of the best opportunities for meetings, networking, and tackling matters of European significance,” she added.
Botchorishvili also expressed Georgia’s support for a French-led initiative within the EPC aimed at strengthening regional cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking.
“There are numerous initiatives within the EPC framework that go beyond security and touch on broader economic development. France has proposed a collaborative European effort to combat drug trafficking—an initiative that Georgia strongly supports,” she said.
Highlighting Georgia's domestic efforts, Botchorishvili noted, “Significant progress has been made recently in drug prevention and control in Georgia. France’s proposal aligns closely with our national priorities, and we are fully committed to contributing to this joint effort.”
