Georgia’s Foreign Minister, Maka Botchorishvili, will participate in the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, taking place in Samarkand.
During her visit, Minister Botchorishvili is scheduled to deliver a speech at the conference and hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts and UNESCO officials.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgia will feature a dedicated pavilion as part of the conference programme, highlighting the nation’s rich intangible cultural heritage. Exhibits will include the ancient tradition of qvevri winemaking and Georgian polyphonic singing—both recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s cultural heritage.
The cultural programme will also include a performance by the acclaimed Georgian folk ensemble Basiani, to be held at the Samarkand Music and Drama Theatre.
The events are being organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the National Wine Agency.
