In 2024, Georgia produced 620.5 thousand tons of perennial crops—an increase of 133.6 thousand tons compared to the previous year, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
This substantial growth was largely driven by sharp increases in grape, apple, peach, and plum production. Grape output rose by 100.8 thousand tons (45.7%), apples by 26.3 thousand tons (52.2%), and peaches and plums by 10.4 thousand tons (35.4%).
Additional gains were recorded across a range of other perennial crops. Hazelnut production grew by 17.1% (6.3 thousand tons), pears by 20.2% (1.9 thousand tons), and berries by 32.8% (1.9 thousand tons).
The Ministry credits these improvements to favorable weather conditions, improved agricultural practices, and increased support for the sector.
