
Garlic imports to Georgia have increased significantly in 2025, rising more than fivefold compared to the same period last year. According to data from the National Statistics Service, from January to July 2025, Georgia imported 1,699 tons of garlic worth $2.291 million. In contrast, during the same period in 2024, imports stood at 711 tons valued at $434,000.
The majority of garlic imports originated from China, followed by Kazakhstan and Iran. The breakdown is as follows:

While imports have surged, garlic exports from Georgia have slightly declined. In the first seven months of 2025, Georgia exported 209 tons of garlic worth $220,400, compared to 224.4 tons worth $236,400 during the same period in 2024.
