Georgia's external trade turnover reached $19.02 billion from January to October, reflecting a 5.5% year-on-year growth, according to the National Statistics Office. The country's top trading partners during this period were Turkey, with $2.63 billion, Russia, with $2.06 billion, and the United States, with $1.72 billion.
Exports saw a 7.4% increase, totaling $5.46 billion, while imports rose by 4.8%, amounting to $8.08 billion.
The leading export destinations included Kyrgyzstan ($1.04 billion), Kazakhstan ($714.3 million), and Azerbaijan ($611 million), while the top import sources were Turkey ($2.21 billion), the United States ($1.59 billion), and Russia ($1.48 billion).
Motor vehicles were the dominant export item, valued at $2 billion, or 36.6% of total exports. Ferro-alloys followed, with exports of $310.5 million, making up 5.7% of the total. Wine and spirituous beverages ranked third, with exports of $242 million, or 4.4% of total exports.
On the import side, motor vehicles were also the largest category, accounting for $2.71 billion (20% of total imports). Petroleum and petroleum oils followed with $1.09 billion, or 8% of imports, while medical drugs in doses amounted to $513.1 million, representing 3.8% of total imports.
In terms of domestic exports, Georgia shipped locally produced goods worth $5.46 billion during the period, marking a 7.4% year-on-year increase. The share of domestic exports in total exports was 43.3%, amounting to $2.37 billion, a 1.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
