Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintadze highlighted Georgia’s strong performance in the latest Chandler Good Government Index (CGGI) 2025, noting the country’s significant progress in effective governance and responsiveness to global challenges.
“The significantly positive trends in economic growth and the macroeconomic environment demonstrate the country’s timely and effective response to challenges,” Tsintadze stated.
He emphasized the importance of Georgia’s placement among Europe’s top three countries in this year’s ranking.
“Looking at European countries, Georgia ranks in Europe’s top three, surpassed only by Luxembourg in this component. It should be noted that Georgia consistently implements timely political decisions and actions in response to global changes and challenges,” the Deputy Minister said.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the assessment was published by the Chandler Institute of Governance within the framework of its 2025 CGGI report. The index measures how effectively governments respond to change, based on data from the World Economic Forum’s global survey, which asks, “How effectively does the government respond to change?”
In the latest results, Georgia climbed six positions to rank 11th globally and second in Europe, joining Luxembourg and Switzerland in the continent’s top three. Notably, Georgia outperformed five G7 countries and 32 EU, Schengen Zone, and NATO member states in this category.
Tsintadze noted that these results reflect Georgia’s consistent and proactive economic policies:
“Clear confirmation of this can be seen in Georgia’s economic results; globally, it is one of the leading countries in terms of economic growth and is expected to maintain this advanced position in the coming years as well,” he added.
