Georgia's merchandise exports surged by 8.9% in the January–July period of 2025, reaching a historic high of over $3.8 billion USD, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze announced. The country also recorded its highest-ever foreign trade turnover, reflecting sustained momentum in economic growth.
According to the Ministry of Economy, total trade turnover rose by 10.3%, hitting $14.2 billion USD during the same period—another all-time high.
“These results once again demonstrate that Georgia is boosting production of goods that are competitive not only in the domestic market but also internationally,” Tsintsadze said, attributing the growth to a combination of structural reforms and trade-focused policies.
He noted that the rise in exports has been strongly supported by Georgia’s network of free trade agreements as well as targeted government programs designed to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and facilitate access to foreign markets.
The strong 2025 performance builds on the country’s momentum from the previous year. In 2024, Georgia’s exports increased by 7.8% to $6.6 billion USD, while total trade turnover rose 8.1% to $23.4 billion USD, also record-setting figures at the time.
