
Foreign IT specialists can now apply for a temporary residence permit in Georgia under new regulations introduced by the government. Adopted on August 27 through Resolution No. 389, the rules aim to attract skilled tech talent and boost Georgia’s growing IT sector.
Key Eligibility Requirements:

Minimum income: Applicants must have earned at least $25,000 in the past 12 months, received in at least two separate payments spaced 30 days apart.

Professional experience: Proof of at least two years of IT-related experience is required.
Eligible Applicants:

Labor immigrants officially registered in Georgia;

Individual entrepreneurs with small business status in the IT field;

Managers or representatives of international IT companies operating in Georgia.
Required Documents:

Application with a unique registration code from the Ministry of Health’s electronic system;

Valid ID and proof of legal stay in Georgia;

Income documentation;

Recent photograph and payment receipt for service fees.
Additional provisions apply to small business entrepreneurs and representatives of international firms. Family members of eligible applicants can also apply for residency.
All foreign documents must be legalized or apostille certified, though electronic submission is allowed if verification is possible via international registries.
The Georgian government says the move is designed to position the country as a regional tech hub and attract highly qualified digital professionals from around the world.
