
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Shamugia, took part in a press conference held for representatives of the regional and national media in the city hall of Clermont-Ferrand, within the framework of his working visit to France. The meeting was dedicated to the largest livestock exhibition in France, Sommet de l'Élevage.
The press conference was attended by the Mayor of Clermont-Ferrand, Olivier Bianchi, the president of the livestock exhibition Jacques Chazal, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the French Republic, Gocha Javakhishvili. The largest livestock exhibition in France Sommet de l'Élevage has been held for more than 30 years. About 105,000 visitors from 90 countries visit the exhibition. As Otar Shamugia noted at the press conference, “today Georgia is waiting for a historic decision and the support of its European friends to gain the status of a candidate country for the European Union.”
About 20 media representatives attended the press conference, which was followed by an official reception in Clermont-Ferrand City Hall, which was attended by representatives of local institutions, private and public organizations, official guests and journalists.
