Between January and November 2024, Georgia imported 20,108 tons of chocolate and cocoa-containing ready-to-eat products valued at $90 million.
According to official statistics, the monetary value of these imports increased by 18% compared to the same period in the previous year, while the import volume rose by 6.6%.
Russia was the primary supplier of chocolate to Georgia, with additional imports sourced from several other countries. The top contributors to Georgia’s chocolate imports were:
- Russia: $25.5 million, 8,145 tons
- Ukraine: $14.8 million, 3,020 tons
- Turkey: $11.4 million, 2,148 tons
- Poland: $6.7 million, 1,160 tons
- Croatia: $6.6 million, 1,135 tons
- Belgium: $4 million, 711 tons
- Italy: $3.2 million, 643 tons
- Germany: $3.2 million, 573 tons
- Armenia: $3.2 million, 533 tons
- Netherlands: $3 million, 528 tons
In addition to these major suppliers, Georgia also imported smaller quantities of chocolate and cocoa-containing products from Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Belarus, Spain, France, the Czech Republic, Turkmenistan, and other countries.
