Georgia is once again hosting the annual NATO Operational Capabilities Concept Evaluation and Feedback Programme (OCC E&F) conference, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to international defence cooperation. The event officially opened today at the Biltmore Hotel in Tbilisi.
The opening ceremony featured remarks from First Deputy Minister of Defence Paata Patiashvili and Rear Admiral Yusuf Karagiule, who both emphasized the importance of the OCC E&F programme and Georgia’s active role within it. Also in attendance was Major General Irakli Chichinadze, Deputy Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces.
The five-day conference brings together military and civilian personnel from NATO member and partner countries, representing various commands and specialisations. Participants will exchange insights on military exercise planning and execution, assess collaborative progress, and set priorities for the coming year.
As part of the event, Major General Chichinadze held bilateral meetings with Rear Admiral Yusuf Karagiule and Brigadier General Theodoros Stephous. Discussions focused on enhancing defence and security cooperation among partner nations.
Organised by NATO’s Allied Joint Operations Command (SHAPE), the OCC E&F conference rotates annually among partner countries. This marks the second time Georgia has been selected as host, underlining its growing role in regional and international defence efforts.
