Senior Vice President of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Virginia Messina talked about the importance of holding the World Tourism Day event in Georgia.

"This event is very important because it brings together the tourism industry to discuss a very important issue in the context that we live in the geopolitical challenges.

The tourism sector in Georgia creates more than 30% of jobs, which is very important. It is a great honor to visit this country for the first time. I am impressed with so many historical sights, such diverse culture and religion. Georgia has huge potential, the country should continue sustainable growth and development. And we will continue to put Georgia in the center of the world", - Virginia Messina said.

Within the framework of the World Tourism Day, Georgia was visited by high-ranking guests [in total more than 300 delegates] from many countries, ministers of tourism, heads of departments and professionals in the field of tourism.
