
Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvirivishvili, met with representatives of the Chinese company Zhongbo Group to discuss investment opportunities in Georgia’s energy sector, focusing on development plans, reforms, and major projects.
According to the ministry, Kvirivishvili presented Georgia’s economic performance and outlined government efforts to support private sector involvement in developing the country’s hydro, solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources.
“Zhongbo Group representatives showed strong interest in exploring Georgia’s renewable energy potential and making major investments,” the ministry said. Deputy Minister Inga Pkhaladze and Aleksandre Sokhadze, Head of the Ministry’s Energy Policy and Investment Projects Department, also attended the meeting.
Zhongbo Group, based in Beijing, was founded in 1991 and employs over 10,000 people. It has more than 40 subsidiaries and builds 26 factories globally. The company is heavily involved in large-scale solar and wind energy projects, energy storage, and integrated renewable energy systems. With annual revenues of over $6 billion, Zhongbo is one of China’s largest companies.
