Today, Georgia marks the Svetitskhovloba, a significant religious holiday observed with festive divine services in churches across the country. October 14 is also recognized as a public holiday, with a day off for the general population.
In addition to commemorating the Robe of Christ, the Church honors the memory of King Mirian and Queen Nana, who adopted Christianity in the 4th century, as well as Saints Sidonia and Abiathar, key figures in Georgia's early Christian history.
The Svetitskhovloba is celebrated twice a year:
October 14 – in honor of the Robe of Christ,
July 13 – in memory of all the Apostles of Christ.
This day holds deep spiritual and historical significance in Georgia’s Christian tradition.
