“Georgia-Azerbaijan neighbourly relations can be an example for Armenia,” stated the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev.
According to Hikmet Hajiyev, Azerbaijan is trying to unite like-minded countries.
“The resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is an example of conflict resolution. Armenian colleagues sometimes say that Azerbaijan defined Armenia’s independence as their occupation policy was a threat to their independence.
Now, several events are taking place in the Middle East. Azerbaijan is a country that is geographically close to the Middle East. Considering these realities, we are trying to strengthen relations with Central Asia as a priority of our foreign policy.
At the same time, Georgia-Azerbaijan relations are an example of neighbourly relations. This can also be an example for Armenia. The Caspian Sea does not divide us; it unites us. Azerbaijan’s multilateral policy does not end here. Azerbaijan is trying to connect 3-4 seas through its energy concept. Azerbaijan’s energy projects have already reached the shores of the Adriatic Sea,” noted Hikmet Hajiyev.
