
As part of her official visit to Uzbekistan, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to discuss expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
The meeting focused on key areas of collaboration, including trade, transport, logistics, energy, innovation and technology, aviation, tourism, agriculture, and investment. Both sides emphasized the growing strength of their economic partnership.
Minister Kvrivishvili highlighted the notable growth in trade between the two countries, citing a 40% increase in trade turnover and a 27% rise in exports in 2024. Encouraging trends continue into 2025, with turnover up by 20% and exports by 46% in the first half of the year.
The two sides also explored joint initiatives aimed at enhancing transit and export capacity, and agreed to begin identifying priority sectors for establishing bilateral enterprises through targeted working visits.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Georgian Ministers of Economy Guram Guramishvili, Irakli Nadareishvili, and Gennady Arveladze, along with Georgia’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Davit Kotaria.
