
Georgia and Iceland signed an air traffic agreement in Reykjavik, as reported by the Civil Aviation Agency of Iceland.
The agreement, which is based on liberal principles, allows designated airlines to operate flights with no restrictions on frequency, capacity, or destinations. It will come into effect once both parties have completed their internal procedures.
The agreement was signed by Givi Davitashvili, Head of Georgia’s Civil Aviation Agency, and Martin Eyjolfsson, Permanent Secretary of State of Iceland. This agreement is expected to stimulate interest from airlines and expand the flight network.
Furthermore, the agreement is anticipated to enhance tourism, trade, and economic relations between Georgia and Iceland.
Both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the aviation sector.
