Georgia’s Minister of Environment and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, held an introductory meeting with Hungary’s newly appointed Ambassador to Georgia, Petra Ponevach-Panas.
According to Georgia's Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, the two discussed current bilateral relations and ways to deepen cooperation between the countries.
Songulashvili also thanked Hungary’s former ambassador, Anna Maria Schiko, for her role in developing Georgian-Hungarian ties and emphasized the importance of continuing collaboration.
“We are ready to strengthen cooperation and build a more effective partnership,” Songulashvili said. “We’ve recently signed memorandums with Hungary’s Ministries of Agriculture and Energy, which open up new opportunities for joint projects in trade, tourism, investment, and agriculture.”
He also noted that Georgia expects the arrival of Hungarian experts to support the country’s European integration efforts and help implement the Association Agreement.
In 2025, Georgia signed two memorandums with Hungary to expand cooperation in agriculture, energy, and environmental protection. The agreements aim to boost strategic partnership and promote practical collaboration between the two nations.
