Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with Zhou Qian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, to discuss the growing strategic partnership between the two countries, with a focus on trade, investment, and connectivity.
The meeting highlighted Georgia’s upcoming participation in the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), set to take place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. Since 2018, over 120 Georgian exporters have benefited from the platform, and this year, more than 40 leading Georgian companies will showcase their products across three pavilions.
“The Shanghai Expo offers a valuable opportunity for Georgian businesses to increase their visibility and access in the Chinese market,” the Ministry noted.
The sides also discussed expanding cooperation in civil aviation and tourism, emphasizing the significance of the visa-free regime and plans to increase flight routes and frequencies between Georgia and China.
“Enhanced air connectivity and simplified travel will further deepen economic and cultural ties,” the Ministry added.
Both parties underscored that platforms like the CIIE and ongoing bilateral initiatives are key to strengthening Georgia–China strategic economic relations.
