The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia, Tea Akhvlediani, completed an official visit to the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of the National Commission for Ethnic Affairs, aiming to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in ethnic policy and civil integration.
According to the Office of the State Minister, Akhvlediani held high-level meetings with Chen Ruifeng, Minister of the National Commission for Ethnic Affairs; Bayanqolu, Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress; and senior representatives from Minzu University and the National Museum of Ethnic Cultures.
Discussions focused on comparative approaches, shared priorities, and new avenues for collaboration based on principles important to both countries. Georgia’s Ambassador to China, Paata Kalandadze, also participated in the meetings.
The Ministry noted that a delegation from China’s National Commission for Ethnic Affairs had previously visited Georgia in 2023 to learn about the country’s civil equality and integration policies, further contributing to the ongoing partnership.
