Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, highlighted the country’s strong economic performance over the past four years, noting an average annual growth rate of 9.7 percent—placing Georgia among the global leaders in economic expansion.
He pointed out that Georgia’s GDP per capita has nearly doubled in this period, reaching approximately GEL 25,000.
“This impressive growth has been broadly diversified,” Tsintsadze said. “Sectors such as transport and warehousing, information and communications, trade, and construction have all significantly contributed to this progress.” He added that over 150,000 jobs were created, leading to a reduction in poverty to a historic low.
According to Tsintsadze, the national poverty rate has nearly halved, now standing at 9.4 percent, with 445,000 people lifted out of poverty in the last four years.
Looking ahead, he expressed confidence in Georgia’s continued economic momentum. “We expect these positive trends to continue through 2025 and beyond. The International Monetary Fund also shares this outlook, forecasting that Georgia will maintain one of the highest economic growth rates globally from 2025 to 2029,” he concluded.
